“Kopid” is a vintage portable basket from the pangcah tribes. It is used to carry rice or tools.
The structure of the lid bag is the purest form of carrying objects in an era when there were no buttons or hardware parts.
The Lid Bag is a nod to the old kopid baskets. It is a two-way bag and sized for daily needs.

Straw Braid
In the Archetype collection, Kamaro’an collaborated with a Taiwan hat factory with an 80-year-old history. We use the old hat sewing technique for bag making.
The hat factory has a unique technique to web infinite-length straw braid and has a wealth of sewing legacy. We also developed a special sewing method and coating to make the bag strong and durable.
Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather
Vegetable-tanned cowhide has a smooth finish while retaining the natural full grain with a unique aspect and touch.
Over time, the leather tanned by vegetables will nourish and evolve, developing a patina.
French Linen
Our linen is made according to old linen traditions in Flanders, France.
Natural linen provides excellent solidity, lightness, and flexibility with a soft texture.

Inspired by Taiwanese indigenous culture, Kamaro’an explores pure craftsmanship through clean design.
The name Kamaro’an originates from pangcah, it means “the place to live”. Pangcah is one of an indigenous ethnic in Taiwan.
Each of their products is handwoven in our studio by indigenous craftsman.
Kamaro’an appreciate the handcrafts of everyday objects that reflect pangcah’s way of living in harmony with nature. The designer duo is obsessed with the non-fancy but practical weaving technique that accomplishes daily needs.
Kamaro’an celebrates the uniqueness, timelessness and precision that hands can bring to life.
