Description

The Gradient Dye Mohair Double-Breasted Coat from Japanese designer brand Mame Kurogouchi is one of the standout pieces this season. Characterized by its wide collar and voluminous silhouette, this coat is crafted from high-quality mohair loop yarn with a stunning, aurora-like sheen. The fabric undergoes precise cutting and shaggy processing to bring out a refined texture. A unique gradient dyeing technique on the mohair fabric simulates a ceramic glaze effect, creating natural color transitions and depth. Minimal seams and a straight silhouette enhance the coat’s soft, layered look. The fabric is thick and substantial, adding both warmth and elegance to any outfit, making it a perfect piece for the fall and winter seasons. Suitable for both formal occasions and daily wear.

The Mame Kurogouchi 2024 Fall/Winter collection, titled “Fragments,” continues the theme from the previous season by exploring the 16th-century Old Karatsu ceramics* of Saga Prefecture*. Designer Maiko Kurogouchi weaves the natural colors, rich textures, and unique patterns of Karatsu ware into the concept of “wearable ceramics,” symbolizing a journey through time.
