Description

This Sheer Embroidery Vest from Japanese designer brand Mame Kurogouchi stands out with its delicate transparency and bold embroidery. The fabric, a blend of polyester and triacetate, is heat-treated to create a textured surface. After dyeing, the fabric undergoes an air tumbler process*, enhancing the fabric’s softness and comfort. The embroidered design on the front stands out when layered, adding a sophisticated flair to any outfit. This versatile piece can be paired with dresses, blouses, or other innerwear, elevating both casual and elegant styles.

*Air tumbler process:A post-treatment technique used in textiles, where gentle air circulation causes the fabric to tumble, enhancing its softness, loft, and texture. In the Sheer Embroidery Vest, this process enriches the polyester and triacetate blend, making it softer and more comfortable while improving the fabric’s overall texture.

The Mame Kurogouchi 2024 Fall/Winter collection, titled “Fragments,” continues the theme from the previous season by exploring the 16th-century Old Karatsu ceramics* of Saga Prefecture*. Designer Maiko Kurogouchi weaves the natural colors, rich textures, and unique patterns of Karatsu ware into the concept of “wearable ceramics,” symbolizing a journey through time.
