Long-sleeved shirt made of 100% natural mulberry silk. The front design has a semi-open placket, closed with elegant mother-of-pearl buttons. The lower part is pleated to form a naturally drooping pleat effect. The soft ruffle collar echoes the ruffles on the cuffs. The sleeves and hem are embroidered with striped seams on the sides, creating a lightweight openwork lace effect. The sides of the hem are pleated and joined with seams to create naturally fluffy and open side hems like petals, bringing a more relaxed and comfortable wearing feel. At the same time, it visually enhances the waistline and beautifies the body proportions.
*Mulberry silk: It has a smoother and softer feel than ordinary silk. Its fine and uniform fibers will show natural luster changes when exposed to light. Due to the nature of mulberry silk, the fabric has natural wrinkles and knotting effects.
＊Fagotting stitches originated from the embroidery technique of the 18th century. They were common in women’s gloves and later spread to underwear, clothing and handkerchiefs. This time-honored decorative embroidery technique is used to join two pieces of fabric together, creating a lace-like effect by running them parallel or criss-crossing. The name of this stitch comes from “Godey’s Lady’s Magazine” from the mid-19th century.

Founder Julie Cole has nearly two decades of experience in the field of Indian fashion design, shuttling back and forth between India for her work. Rubia and Neel’s products are manufactured in India. In the Indian language, “Rubia” means red, and “Neel” means indigo, representing the brand’s foundational colours.
In addition to colours derived from natural Indian dyes and traditional techniques like Jamdani weaving, the brand also emphasises the creation of products with the warmth of hand-craftsmanship, including hand weaving and hand stitching. The simple yet warm designs and comfortable textures provide wearers with a gentle and relaxed experience.
