Solo Continuum Earrings

$ 7.500

Thin glass cut from 2mm thick plate glass, then woven into a rectangle shape. The K18YG bar on the top enhances the delicate look of the glass.

The stick-shaped glass that form the earrings is cut out by hand one by one from highly transparent sheet glass. From there, the process of cutting, polishing, and firing is repeated to create a finish with a slightly fluctuating expression, but by leaving a slight nuance of the original sheet glass to the end, it creates a dignified appearance.

The glass itself is usually considered a fragile material, but the weaving makes it stronger and suitable for everyday wear.

*Sold as a pair.

Solo Series | A series in which rod-shaped glass tinged with fluctuation is woven with thread. The name “solo” is a stick-shaped piece of glass that has individual differences and was named as a symbol of the individual. In this series, the designers explore the beauty of loosely interlocking “solos” that are intermittently linked together.

Bubun

A jewellery making duo of Megumi Jin and Nobuyuki Jin, based in Japan. Fascinated by glass as a student, Megumi studied glass coldwork and kilnwork at Tama Art University, where she created objects and jewellery. While continuing to make jewellery privately after graduation, she met Nobuyuki, who has a background in design, and the two began working together, sharing a mutual sense of beauty.

The two started exhibiting their work under the name Bubun in 2016. Bubun means “part” in Japanese. They believe jewellery becomes part of a person, both in the physical sense and in the spiritual sense. In 2019, they moved from Kanagawa to Kofu, the center of the jewelry industry in Japan, where they continues to work today.
